MetZyme®LIGNO™, primary refining: MetGen’s solutions for energy savings and quality improvements in TMP/CTMP/BCTMP production. Up-to 20% energy savings are achievable in primary refining together with increased production through-put and improvements in fibre quality. Easy add-on application in impregnation phase of the process.
Kraft pulping: delignification enhancement by hemicellolytic enzymes together with lignolytic enzymes enables reductions in bleacing chemistry usage and enables higher brightness sealing to be reached.
MetZyme®PLATA™, extractives control: breaking down triglycerides and other wood resin, while at the same time oxidizing them to hydrophilic and soluble form in the pulp, PLATA™ acts immediately reducing deposit build-up and reducing deposit-caused web breaks enabling increased production efficiency. Positive impacts on bleaching efficiency can be reached by disintegrating extractives from fibre surfaces prior bleaching operation. PLATA™ is well suited to perform also in specialty pulp manufacturing like in dissolving pulp production.
MetZyme®BRILA™, fibre modification by using tailored and pure endoglucanase in order to change fibre characteristics resulting improved quality in multiple paper grades. BRILA™ enhanced fibre can be utilized to reduce refining energy and to reduce fines build-up in water circuts. In addition to the above BRILA™ can be used in special applications like controlling vessel picking in hard wood pulps and viscosity control in dissolving pulp production. BRILA™ enables pulp producers to tailor-make characteristics into their pulps according to the end-user customer requirements. Manufacturers of various paper makers can fine-tune with BRILA™ their received market pulp to match the requirements of their specific processes and quality requirements.
MetZyme®BRILA™, is specifically tailored endoglucanase product which ensures maximum modification of the fibre without risk of converting cellulosic fibres into sugars. BRILA™ has shown the capability of enhancing successfully the fibrillation and enabling energy savings up-to 50% during the pulping operation. Quality parameters enhancement by BRILA™ allows the treated MFC to be used in multiple novel applications like in textiles and in packaging board barrier property enhancement. Easy add-on application and tailored solution to match the requirements of the starting substrate enables benefits in quality and total cost of operation in MFC production.
MetZyme®BRILA™, a tailor-made and customer specific solution, provides various opportunities to improve tissue and packaging board mill operation and end-product quality. In tissue BRILA™ enables the strength enhancement of recycled fibre which can be utilized in improved final paper quality, in fibre substitution optimizing final product cost structure, in better runnability of the paper machine and in minimizing off-grade to name a few benefits. In packaging board industry BRILA™ brings tangible benefits by providing better drainage and runnability of the paper machine resulting in production increase, improved fibre strength enabling fibre savings and fibre substitution resulting in reduction of total cost of operation.
METNIN™ SHIELD, a 100% recyclable and biogradable lignin-based product to reduce creep in packaging board in high-humid conditions. SHIELD improves simultaneously board strength properties (SCT) and provides sizing. SHIELD is certified to meet the requirements and recommendations of BfR and FDA when applied in packaging board for food packaging. With SHIELD quality of low cost board raw material can be lifted to challenge the parameters of high raw material grade boards and SHIELD improves the durability of the final board product.
