MetZyme® FORCI™ is a product family offering novel tools for biogas applications.

FORCI™ solutions are based on combination of addressing lignin, facilitating access to reducing sugars, oxidizing soluble phenolic compounds, and neutralizing harmful chemicals. These actions reduce inhibitors and leave nutrients better available for microbial processes.

Absolutely unique feature of FORCI™ is it’s capability to addresses the soluble lignin, phenolic compounds and micro-pollutants in the feedstock. If left unhandled, these inhibitors have shown to dramatically decrease the effectiveness of related microbiological process. For example, MetZyme® FORCI™ has doubled the methane production rate from straw gaining half of the total yield in one week from what is typically a 60 day process. In addition to methane production rate increase, FORCI™ has shown to reduce the volume of the solid waste created by 10% – and also improve the dewatering properties of the waste.

Furthermore, addressing lignin-based compounds in anaerobic reactor may decrease the composting time. Also, recycled of the process waters accumulate less inhibitors when an active enzyme treatment is utilized.

Soluble lignin is a harmful inhibitor for any microbiological processes.
