Finalist Introduction MetGen Oy: Playing a part in creating networks for bioindustry

MetGen develops enzymatic products for biofuels, pulp and paper production. MetGen produces enzymes, which save energy and speed up chemical reactions. The core of the business is to produce enzymes that, unlike the most of natural enzymes, are able to with stand high temperatures and pH-levels. With MetGen’s special technology platform it is possible to produce enzymes in a cost-effective way. The company took part in the Kasvu Open BioChain Growth Track in order to find out what the current situation in bioindustry of Finland is, explains the Sales and Marketing Director of MetGen Oy Harri Niemelä.

“We entered the competition to see whether it is possible to create networks for bio-industry in Finland and to find out whether there are enough specialists in this kind of biocluster. We would also like to join the pilot cluster in Äänekoski. It was definitely worth participating in the Kasvu Open competition! The experts offered us many solid ideas to be carried on. In addition to that, we have enlarged our network within the industry. “

Finalistiesittely MetGen Oy: Mukana luomassa biotalouden verkostoja
